Who Is Carrie Cunningham, President of Global Songwriters Connection?
Carrie Cunningham is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, music industry professional, and mentor whose career has been built on one core belief: great songs change lives—and great guidance helps them get there.
With experience spanning more than two decades, Carrie has worked across nearly every corner of the music business. She spent nearly 20 years as a professional touring artist, performing on over 1,000 stages and opening for more than 50 national touring acts. During that time, she handled her own booking, tour logistics, and payroll, gaining firsthand experience in the real-world operations of an artist’s career. From 2006 to 2011, she was signed to an independent label, further deepening her understanding of both the creative and business sides of the industry.
In addition to her work as a performer, Carrie has engineered live sound for major venues, produced vocals for recording artists, written songs for film and television, and mentored countless independent songwriters and artists at every stage of their careers. Her releases have earned international success, including four #1 songs and numerous Top 10 placements on the European country charts. Her 2017 EP Let’s Dance was named one of the Top 10 Albums of the Year by Women of Country Music.
Carrie holds degrees in Voice & Composition and Live Sound Engineering and is a voting member of both the Country Music Association and the Recording Academy. Her work has earned multiple nominations from the ISSA Awards, the Josie Music Awards, and Songtown’s Artist of the Year.
